Wisepill API Documentation
The Wisepill API allows our clients to integrate the Wisepill pill dispensers and pillboxes with their own applications and processes.
The Wisepill API provides functionality to:
View, manage, and configure smart pill box settings and information
View pillbox events e.g. such pill box openings, battery level and signal strength
Create treatment episodes and view medication intakes per person per day on treatment (using a variable called: adherence string) which can be used to visualize medication intakes in your own system
View key adherence data such as last opening date of pill box or last seen date of pill box to enable triaging of people on treatment in your own system
The API webservices can be used for all smart pill boxes that are procured through the Global Drug Facility (GDF).
Full documentation of all API functions can be found at https://evrimedapi.wisepill.com/
Request credentials and access to the sandbox environment
A Postman public workspace has been created that contains all API functions and detailed documentation. This workspace can be found at https://www.postman.com/wisepill-api/workspace/wisepill-api-sandbox/overview.
You can request your login credentials (API username and key) by sending an email to support@wisepill.com
After receiving your login credentials, you can fork the public Wisepill API workspace to your personal Postman workspace and add the username and key credentials for each of the functions or as a global variable. Do not hesitate to contact support@wisepill.com if you need help with setting up the Postman environment for testing.
Configure smart pill boxes for testing purposes
The sandbox environment is preconfigured with several smart pill box devices, but you can also add several of your own evriMED1000 devices for testing. For this, you need to:
Request a configuration file for your Wisepill device from support@wisepill.com.
Ensure that the SIM card is active for the pillbox. Send an email request to support@wisepill.com if the SIM card is not yet activated.
Connect a smart pill box via USB to your computer/laptop.
Open the evriMED caregiver app (download here) and select Apply new config and press OK when done.
Disconnect the smart pill box from your computer/laptop.
Open the lid of the smart pill box for more than 5 seconds to generate an intake event. The smart pill box may reboot. After a couple of minutes, you will be able to find the device IMEI via the findDevices function.
You can repeat steps 1-5 for any other smart pill box you would like to have access to via the API sandbox.
